
Currie
Bailey(right) and Salina Plumb(left) are the team that makes up
CB Performance Horses. With their 40+ combined years of experience
in the horse industry and their love of quality horses they have
decided to join together and provide a facility that offers Lessons,
training, sales and boarding in a friendly, fun environment. They
emphasize the importance of proper horsemanship in any discipline
you want to pursue. From the weekend trail rider, to the competitive
barrel racer. Without proper horsemanship skills the bond between
horse and rider will never be strong. They strive to teach those
skills to the beginning child or the competitive adult no matter
what pen you want to ride in.
Currie began her riding at about 8 years old
aboard a Palomino Pony Hunter. She soon graduated up to the highly
competitive Paint Horse competition where she received most of
her awards riding Majors Zipper. ”Winning 30 youth and amateur
state championships in events ranging from working hunter to trail,
2 APHA World Championships in Pole Bending and Barrel Racing,
4 APHA Reserve World Championships titles in Stake Race, Barrel
Racing, Pole Bending and Goat Tying, Reserve All-Around National
Youth Champion, an APHA Youth Versatility Award, 2 Sportsmanship
Awards, several National Honor Roll positions an countless yearling
Lunge Line futurity winnings, Currie Bailey has learned from the
best. Currie spent many years training with top trainers including
Lauri Cummings-Blake, Diane and Rusty Paris, Terri Carrico and
Jason Contreras. While she was still showing horses, Currie started
running competitive barrel races in 1996 and found her true love
is the speed of Barrel Racing. Currie's goals are to continue
to train quiet, reliable and fast barrel horses for open, youth
and amateur exhibitors. In addition, she truly loves sharing her
knowledge with the Youth and Amateurs through her lesson program
and watching them become successful. Teaching fundamentals in
events from showmanship, western pleasure to barrel racing.
Salina Plumb began her riding career
at the age of five years old with her shetland pony Blackie.
She enjoyed trail riding with her mom in the rugged terrain of
the coastal mountains. She became interested in the competitive
arena at the age of six and started competing in local Jr. Rodeos
and Gymkhana fun days. The competitive streak became ingrained
in her and she climb the competitive ranks throughout the Jr.
Rodeo, High School Rodeo and Collegiate Circuit claiming many
titles. Some of the more recent titles include CHSRA State
Finalist four years running in Pole Bending, Barrel Racing, and
Breakaway Roping. West Coast Regional Collegiate Breakaway
Roping Reserve Champion. Creston Classic Rodeo Breakaway Roping
Champion. Driscoll Ranch Rodeo- All Around Champion Cowgirl,
Breakaway Roping Champion and Team Penning Champion.
She has also worked with well know trainers such as: Jason
Attard, Craig Schmersal, and Derrick Tartaglia. Learning
the fundamentals of colt starting and horsemanship, to refining
a horses moves in intricate reining maneuvers, to teaching
a horse body basic on how to carry themselves correctly.
Salina's goals are to continue
to strive towards well balanced horses in body and mind, that
are well rounded in all aspects of competition.
